Story of a bride-to-be …

The first appointment.

I arrive at a big beautiful wooden door in the heart of Lyon.

The designer greets me right away. I don’t understand why just yet, but my heart and my brain are unified in this one feeling: Isabella will be the creator of my wedding dress.

The showroom is located in a beautiful Haussmann-style apartment. As soon as I walk in, I feel as if all of the dresses are calling out to me and want to tell me a story.

Isabella begins asking me questions. She wants to know all about me—my likes, my dislikes, what I am all about. She’s taking in my appearance, yes, but she also looks deeper, inside me. She captures my energies, my reactions, my feelings. The exchange is spontaneous, natural, and I easily let my guard down for her.

She asks me if I already have ideas, inspiring photos. The answer is yes, I have an idea of what I want but I need her guidance to piece together the entire picture.

I come to understand quickly that Isabella will be creating a truly custom-made gown, made from A to Z, only for me.  A kind of second skin that will highlight both my figure and my personality. After our initial conversation, Isabella lets me flirt with all of the beautiful dresses in the showroom. I am instinctively drawn to several of them, and Isabella has me try them on.

The result : I have the impression that I have left a part of me in Isabella’s hands. I feel that she managed to capture who I really am. I’m already looking forward to the next meeting…

The second appointment.

As soon as I arrive, Isabella asks me if my ideas have evolved in terms of materials, volumes, and shapes. Isabella has already prepared a sketch for me, as well as an estimate. She takes my measurements and completes her portrait of me.

She reminds me that these two appointments do not commit me in any way and serve exclusively to show me where we could go together in this magnificent adventure.

The result : I don’t need to think about it…I know that Isabella must be my fairy godmother for this special life event.

The third appointment.

Today is the fitting of the toile: a cotton toile dress created from a pattern. While it is still only the beginning, I am already starting to visualize the final piece.

We discuss again to refine the look.

She explains to me that she can also design the dresses for my loved ones, and I am sold.

The result : I can’t wait to go back…everything is starting to take shape.

The fourth appointment.

Today I am not alone. I am accompanied by my mother, my mother-in-law, and my friends…and the emotions are strong.

I feel the tears rising as I take in the amazed looks on the faces of my entourage of women…

Isabella is here to make this moment even more perfect: a handkerchief in her hand, her smile at the corners of her lips, and a little touch of humor at the ready.

We wrap up the finishing touches, the last aesthetic details: a strap, a lucky stone that only I will know about, a slit, and the final piece is almost ready…

The result : the day was full of emotions…I can’t wait for the next meeting, which will also be the last one. (But, I don’t want it to end).

The fifth appointment.

That’s it, it’s the big day (or almost). I try on the dress for the last time before I say yes…Isabella takes the time to think with me about the hairstyle, accessories, and make-up. She has a real talent for aesthetics and can perfectly visualize the whole look, from the roots of my hair to the tips of my feet.

She tells me that I can take my dress with me or leave it in the showroom. Either way, she can make last-minute alterations until D-Day.

In conclusion, I am both excited to have the final dress and already nostalgic to have finished this adventure with Isabella. She participated in one of the most important days of my life, and she will always have a place in my heart.
